    Course Description 
    In this on-demand course, participants will gain knowledge about neurodiversity and neurodivergence in an educational setting. The main goal is to help participants become better guides to students with a variety of support needs through an affirming lens.

    Our goal is to equip teachers with in-depth knowledge of neuro differences, and guidelines on how to use simple language to engage students in conversations about neurodiversity. 

    The course is centered on relationship, person-centered, and strength-based models to move away from a fix-it mindset. Modules incorporate self-paced learning materials, review questions,  reflection questions, video analyses, as well as guided community discussions.

    • Content and presentations are taught and created by autistic/neurodivergent professionals and educators.
    • Builds in-depth and applicable knowledge for professionals new to an educational setting.
    • Helps para educators to have the right mindset to presume competence when working with neurodivergent students.

    Course Instructor

    Maisie (she/her) is an openly Autistic inclusivity trainer and curriculum designer. Following her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design, she created the GEM platform.
